Affinity Quartet represents the next generation of Australian classical superstars. Their performances are celebrated not only for phenomenal musicianship, but also for giving audiences an inside experience of classical chamber music. Play On Music
Since graduating as winners of the 2015 ANAM Chamber Music Competition, Affinity Quartet has established itself in Australia performing programs that traverse diverse histories in the string quartet, including works by Australian composers, world premières by Jack Symonds (AU), and Australian premières of the complete string quartets of Leos Janáček, Pavel Haas, Benjamin Britten and Sir Andrzej Panufnik. In 2016 supported by Australia Council for the Arts and a scholarship to the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove (UK), the quartet embarked on a six week tour to the UK and Germany, which included further tuition and concert performances. Affinity Quartet's 2019 four part concert series NEXUS includes works by Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Borodin, Bloch, Shostakovich, Glass, Bartók and Matthew Hindson (AU). In 2020 they undertake a second international tour to the Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale, Italy, Lübeck, Salzburg and London and perform IN THE LIGHT, a two part concert series, including collaborations with Australian mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean and composers Brett Dean and Matthew Laing.
