Harry Bennetts, violin
Harry is currently undertaking the Professional Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music studying with Robin Wilson. His previous teachers include Christopher Kimber, Philippa Paige and Mark Mogilevski. A member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Sinfonia in 2012, Harry has also performed with the Sydney Camerata and Australian Youth Orchestra. He was Concertmaster of the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 2013. During his time at Melbourne University, Harry held the Corrina D’Hage Mayer String Scholarship, the Brunner Scholarship for Excellence and the CD Hume Violin Scholarship. In 2015 Harry won first prize in the ANAM Concerto Competition and first prize and audience prize in the Kendall National Violin Competition. He performed Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the Maroondah Symphony Orchestra, won first prize with Affinity Collective in the ANAM Chamber Music Competition, and toured with the Australian Chamber Orchestra as a 2015 Emerging Artist. Harry has performed in masterclasses with Natsuko Yoshimoto and Christian Tetzlaff through the Melbourne Recital Centre series and with the Sitkovetsky Trio. |
