Melbourne based Affinity Quartet explores diverse histories in the string quartet. Often collaborating with Australian composers and artists including Jack Symonds, Brett Dean, Wilma Smith, Matt Laing and Lotte Betts-Dean, they have given Australian premières of complete string quartets by Janáček, Haas, Britten and Panufnik and world premières by Laing and Symonds. Their 2016 International Tour was supported by the Australia Council for the Arts and included Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar, UK and the Yehudi Menuhin Festival at London's Southbank Centre. Affinity’s 2020 Season includes the Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale and performances in Italy, Salzburg and London.
